Basketball Rules ~ Over and Back
A basic rule of basketball is the over and back rule. Once an offensive player advances the ball beyond the midcourt line the ball cannot touchdown behind the midcourt line. Also if an offensive player who has the ball steps on the midcourt line after the ball has crossed midcourt that is a backcourt violation as well. Backcourt violations are referred to as over and back.
The over and back rule is a basic rule of basketball at every level.

what if the offense gets the ball and both feet across half-court and the defense tips the ball and it hits the leg of the offense player, going across half-court, the offense player gets the ball, is this over and back?
